STANDARD review process
All submissions are reviewed by a human, using the same consistent review process.
1. Audio Review
We start by listening, from beginning to end. The submitted audio is reviewed for overall sound quality, final-master readiness, version accuracy, correct content classification, format fit, and overall suitability for the PDX Radio listening experience.

2. Metadata Review
next, We review the information submitted with the recording for accuracy and compare for consistency, including the artist name, track title, featured artists, credits, release information, ISRC where applicable, duration, version details, and explicit-content classification.

3. Rights, Authorization & Music-Use Review
Then, We review the submitter’s rights and authorization declarations, confirm ownership and credits information, AI use, samples or other third-party material use, and all other information relevant to PDX Radio's responsible music use, attribution, and reporting.

4. Music Room Decision
Based on the review findings Each submission receives one of three outcomes:
  • Accepted — the recording moves forward toward broadcast readiness.
  • Action Needed — something needs to be corrected, clarified, or included before the review can be completed.
  • Not Selected — the recording is not being added to PDX Radio rotation at this time.

5. Broadcast Readiness
Accepted tracks are prepared for applicable PDX Radio systems which may include regular airplay rotation, playlist placements, listener request / votes, charts, request/play/impression statistics, promotional assets, and other opportunities.

6. Station Activation
Once the required station-readiness steps are complete, the recording is activated within the applicable PDX Radio systems.

Our Review Standard
The PDX Radio Music Room does not base decisions on follower count, label status, budget, industry connections, or paid promotion.
We review the music, the information attached to it, and then determine whether it can be responsibly used and represented on the PDX Radio platform. If an issue can reasonably be corrected, we may request you fix it rather than automatic rejection.

Songs may be submitted by the recording artist, producer, copyright owner, ​
​or an authorized representative with the legal right to submit the material.
All submissions are automatically reviewed for:
rights authorization, ​metadata accuracy, content fit, audio quality, and operational readiness.
To be considered, each track must include accurate basic information. ​
Submitting your music to PDX Radio for review does not guarantee:
station rotation, listener requests, chart inclusion, interview opportunities, or promotional support.

PDX Radio reserves the right to remove or discontinue use of any submitted content at its discretion and ​
is not responsible for copyright disputes arising from submitted material.

"Does PDX Radio charge submission fees or pay-to-play?"
No. PDX Radio does not allow pay-to-play, and does not charge submission, subscription or membership fees.
"What genres can I submit to PDX Radio?"
PDX Radio focuses on independent Hip Hop, R&B, and related sub-genres.
"Do I need to own the rights to the music I submit?"
Yes. only Submit music you have the legal rights to share, including any samples and featured performances.
"Does PDX Radio accept AI-generated music or use submissions for AI training?"
No. PDX Radio does not accept AI-generated music and does not use music for AI training.
