 Eligibility Requirements
  • Location: 
    • Artists must specify the region or country they’re from.
  • Genre: 
    • Artists must create music within the genres of Hip hop, R&B, or related sub-genres.
  • Ownership & Rights: 
    • Artists must have legal rights to all elements of their track, including samples and featured artists.
Any copyright disputes will result in immediate removal from the charts.

Entry Process
  • Submission Protocol:
    • Submissions must be:
      • High Quality
      • Uncensored (no radio edits)
      • MP3 format
      • 5 minutes or less total run time
    • Artists (or their representatives) must submit entries via
  • Accurate Metadata: 
    • Submissions must include accurate Song Title and Artist metadata.
  • Screening Process: 
    • PDX Radio reviews all entries to ensure they meet eligibility requirements and quality standards.

Voting and Chart Placement
  • How to Cast a Vote: 
    • Each Song Request counts as one vote for that song.
    • Listeners can submit Song Requests via PDX Radio’s website or mobile apps using the Song Request widget.
  • Voting Limitations:
    • Each listener (IP address) can submit :
      • up to five song requests per hour
      • a maximum of ten requests every 12-hour period.
      • This ensures fair play and prevents bot interference.
    • Each song will only air once within any 30-minute period, regardless of the number of requests.
    • However, all requests contribute to the song’s total votes.
  • Voting Weight: 
    • Chart positions are determined solely by the highest total number of listener votes (100%).
  • Tie-Breaking: 
    • In the event of a tie, priority is given to the song that reached the tied position first,
    • the additional song is placed in the next position down.
Chart Duration and Rotation
  • Chart Lifespan: 
    • Songs can remain on the charts for a maximum of 12 consecutive months.
    • Afterward, they remain requestable but are ineligible for chart reentry
    • this ensures OPPORTUNITY for newer music  to get exposure.
  • Entry Limitations: 
    • An artist may submit up to ten individual songs
    • OR one entire album per calendar month
    • provided each song meets all other qualifying requirements.
  • Update Frequency: 
    • Charts are refreshed on the first day of each month
    • rankings updated to reflect the previous month’s totals.
 Disqualification and Rule Violations
  • Vote Tampering: 
    • Use of automated systems or other forms of manipulation will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Inappropriate Content: 
    • Songs containing hate speech, explicit criminal behavior, or overtly incriminating language will be disqualified.
  • Copyright Issues: 
    • Any copyright infringement will lead to immediate removal/
    • copyright infringement will result in a ban from future submissions.
  • Consequences: 
    • Artists in violation may be barred from chart participation for up to 12 months.
    • Repeat offenses result in a permanent ban.
Additional Provisions
  • Accolades:
    • Artists who achieve chart placement gain significant recognition,
    • bragging rights and accolades within the PDX Radio community and beyond.
    • additional prizes may vary.
  • Rule Amendments:
    • PDX Radio reserves the right to modify these rules  at any time to maintain fairness and integrity.
  • Final Decisions:
    • All placement and eligibility decisions by PDX Radio are final and non-negotiable.
