 Introduction

PDX Radio is committed to supporting authentic, human-made music and empowering independent artists to own their voice, their work, and their audience. As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to impact the music industry, we believe it’s essential to set clear boundaries to protect creativity, originality, and community.


 1. No AI-Generated Music Submissions

PDX Radio does not accept music that is primarily AI-generated,
including but not limited to:

• AI-created vocals or lyrics (e.g. voice clones)
• AI-generated instrumental tracks with no human input
• Songs created entirely through generative tools with no human authorship

we believe human creativity cannot be faked or automated by a machine. If your track was made with AI assistance (like mastering tools or beat suggestions), but you wrote and performed it— see Section 3.


2. Artist Disclosure Requirement

All artists submitting to PDX Radio must disclose if any part of their music includes AI assistance. This includes:

• AI-assisted beat creation (e.g. Splice AI, Amper, etc.)
• Lyric or melody suggestions from AI writing tools
• Synthetic vocal processing (beyond traditional autotune)

PDX Radio reserves the right to review and flag submissions for further verification
if AI involvement is suspected but not disclosed.


3. Acceptable Use of AI Tools

PDX Radio recognizes that many artists use AI as a tool —not a replacement.
The following uses of AI are acceptable,
provided the final product is still driven by human creativity:

• Mixing and mastering assistance (e.g. LANDR, iZotope)
• Beat inspiration or rough drafts (the final product is modified/arranged by you)
• AI-enhanced artwork or marketing (with proper credit/disclosure)

Just keep it 100 — if you use a tool, say so.


4. No Deepfakes, Clones, or Unauthorized Voices

We do not permit music that uses:

• AI-generated impersonations of real artists or public figures
• Voice clones of other individuals without documented consent
• Deepfaked visuals, artwork, or likenesses of others without permission

This violates our community values and may also violate laws around publicity rights and intellectual property.


5. Metadata & Copyright Compliance

If AI was used in your creative process in any way,
you must note it in your metadata or submission form.
Mislabeling or withholding this info can result in:

• Rejection from the platform
• Removal from charts or playlists
• Ban from future submissions

We believe transparency builds trust.


6. Policy Violations

Anyone found violating this policy may face:

• Immediate removal from PDX Radio’s platform, playlists, charts, and events
• Public notice of inauthentic content
• Permanent ban from future participation

We take this seriously to protect our community and the integrity of independent music.


7. Evolving With the Culture

We know AI is evolving fast.
So are we.
This policy will be reviewed and updated regularly to:

• Reflect new threats or trends
• Protect artists' rights
• Encourage ethical innovation
